A Look back at the Big Bourne Bash, 2025

As the last Bank Holiday of August 2025 wraps up, we can’t help but feel as though this might be the point in which we turn our heads towards Autumn; leaving a rather epic summer behind. There were so many standouts to the summer this year, which kickstarted when The Coffee Can went international and headed out to Barcelona for two weeks. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be reminiscing on some of our big summer moments of 2025. Let’s kick things off by turning attention to last month, and an event which is always in the diary a year in advance – the Big Bourne Bash.

The Bourne Green in Farnham has become somewhat of a home for The Coffee Can, as although we brand ourselves as a mobile business which can head anywhere, it is where our permanent coffee shop base is. Three years ago we took on a takeaway coffee bar within the cricket pavilion, and it’s safe to say that we had absolutely no idea what we were getting ourselves in for. Pan to 2025 and we couldn’t feel as though we are more in the community if we tried. We’ve witnessed families grow, sports clubs form, lifetime memories take place and pretty much every other significant event you could imagine. It therefore felt right that Amy went on board and joined the committee organising the Big Bourne Bash for 2025.

For those unfamiliar with the Bourne Bash, it’s a charity event organised on the Bourne Green to take place on the evening of the village fete. It’s pretty epic, and become rather renowned amongst locals for being quite the night out. We’ve seen the number of lost belongings which get collected from the Green the next day – so trust us when we vouch for the fact it’s quite a wild night out. The event takes place to help put money back into the community by raising funds for local charities, organisations and good causes. It’s all possible by a core team of unpaid Committee members who start preparations a year in advance – working to organise the logistics to coincide with the day’s fete proceedings.

The 2025 Bourne Show and Big Bourne Bash was absolutely epic. Before anything else, there are some thank you’s that must be given to those who worked behind the scenes to make it possible.

To Roger, who didn’t sleep for several days leading up to the proceedings to make sure everything was built and ready.

To Rob from Chris Holm Design Kitchens for his superb organisation.

To Graham who (once again) came to the rescue with his electrical wizardry so that the Green was lit well into the night.

To Sarah, who quite literally designed everything to perfection.

There are very few fundraising platforms in the area quite as almighty as the Bourne Bash, so a massive thank you to everyone who attended throughout the day and night. The Bourne Show has been running for nearly 100 years (which feels almost impossible to imagine), but that is testament to the spirit of the community and willingness of locals to come out in force and celebrate all things Farnham.

…. Do we start talking about plans for 2026 yet?!
