We’re feeling a bit emotional over at the Pavilion this week, because Tuesday marked four whole years of the Coffee Can being set up on the Green in the cricket pavilion.
What a four years it has been. We never imagined that four years later we’d be surrounded by the most tight-knit, caring community that an unassuming Green has ever seen, and it’s at anniversaries like this that we couldn’t be more grateful.
It has been an utter joy and a pleasure to watch families grow up, have countless gossip sessions over the coffee bar, learn about the rules of cricket and football, host midwife classes, circuits sessions, Christmas grottos…. it feels like we’ve seen it all. This year, we decided to create a little bit of a year book for customers to sign and share some of their Coffee Can memories, and reading through the responses has really reminded us just how many different daily routines and habits incorporate a little slice of Coffee Can.
See some of the entries below:
The Coffee Can has brought so much life back to the whole Green! Definitely one of the best things to come out of the pandemic!
Great coffee, lovely place to meet up with your friends!
The Coffee Can has become an essential part of our community. Our pockets are emptier, but worth every penny.

The Bourne Pavilion really is something else. It’s hard to explain just how much of a network we’ve woven around ourselves. If you’re a regular, you’ll know it’s not just a coffee shop’, but we can’t quite pin down how such a sense of community has developed. It’s a very special place and we are so thankful to be here!
Thanks to our epic regulars, many of whom we’ve served since Day 1 – you really are an awesome bunch.
